Breaking The Cycle

I have referred 8 young people to The Academy of Hard Knocks over the last 18 months; 7 males and 1 female between the ages of 16 and 23, and have been very impressed with the level of engagement all those referred have shown to the various programmes on offer.

The programme has proved to be a fun and stimulating place to learn, master self discipline and train themselves to be fitter, more active young people. They have all really enjoyed the benefits they’ve experienced and feel as a result less stressed, more engaged, exercise more self control and has improved self confidence. The young people are also offered practical help and support in accessing work experience and placements and employment opportunities eventually.

Sam Rowe has been working extremely hard to keep the young people engaged and has shown success where other organisations have failed in this regard as he knows so well their habits and issues and is able to closely relate to those referred to the programme. As such he inspires respect and a good level of investment with the programme demonstrated by the high level of those returning several times for ongoing support and training.

I have worked closely with Sam around the specific needs of those I’ve referred and feel he has the best interests of the young people at heart in all he says and does and I would without hesitation continue to refer as there is simply no other intervention of this nature available in this area. I feel it has been a very valuable resource and most effective intervention for those who are the most vulnerable and most at risk of becoming isolated, suffering from mental ill health, substance misuse and at risk of offending.

Sam Rowe Bungee Jump

You may or may not know but on the 29th which is this sunday Sam and a few other including Cage Amateurs UK Miss KC Kendall are jumping from a perfectly good cage attatched to a crane for one good cause or another. Between you and me I know for fact Sams arse is going sixpence half crown but being the rugged ‘Mans Man’ that he is he will leap into the unknown and plumett towards earth only to be saved by a piece of elastic that ( All being Well ) should hopefully fire him back up into the safety of the cage.

The same applies with KC but to be fair having been on the end of her bullying, reasoning and demanding when she want wants something done on site the amount of hot air expelled from her mouth will pretty much ensure she will go upwards when leaving the cage. Love you lots Miss Car-nar-je.

Now short of actually being able to push either Sam or KC out of the Cage personally which you can not do, a small donation or a big one if you so wish will mean they can not chicken out.

To Donate if this is within you ability to do so

AHK Across The World

Just to let you know who I am, I’m Jon P from a website called http://www.cageamateursuk.com and all being well I will be helping Sam out with his blog. Helping, hindering only time will tell. Last year we did a boxing promotion in which a fighter got a little cheeky and wouldn’t stop when asked oh so nicely by one of our refs to do so. Now call me old fashioned but pushing a ref is not really the done thing and can not be allowed to pass unchallenged. This video has been seen over a million times on the web so check out the t shirts our fine referees Mr Lee Ambler and Mr Jon Jarvis are wearing. The Team at CAUK and The White Collar Fight Club support The Academy and buying a T Shirt you too will  be helping out. Now to be honest it won’t make you no Lee Ambler but you will look well cool.

Enjoy catch you soon

Jon P
